My name is Benedict Chin (he/him), a Finance, Economics and Statistics student, and I am running for ISD President. I have found my first year life very different from my expectations due to the pandemic, being an international student only makes it harder. Our welfare needs to be recognized more than ever right now. Being Publications Director gave me a great understanding of the mechanisms behind ISD’s functioning.
If elected, I will
- Increase the visibility of all kinds of help available for international students
- Ensure equal career opportunities by arranging more Careers and Employability Fairs for International Students
- Collaborate with student clubs from different cultural backgrounds to host events encouraging cultural exchange
- Provide a platform that will allow International Students to take part and contribute in ISD’s decision making process
- Foster a multicultural, inclusive, and supportive community where all voices would be heard and valued
