Hi! I am Abirami (she/her) and I am running for General Representative in the elections to serve as your voice! I am the current Wellbeing Director of the ANU International Students Department (ISD). As the Wellbeing Director of the ISD and as one of you, I have witnessed areas in the wellbeing sphere where the ANU needs to make immediate improvements to restore power in our community.
1. Better ANU Counselling and mental health programs: I will liaise with ANU Counselling to recruit more and diverse counsellors and improve services for International Students as well as advocate for tutors to receive MHFA training.
2. I will introduce an ANUSA Mental Health Grant to complement the existing Medical Grant.
3. SASH prevention among International Students starting with education and awareness.
