Hi everyone!
I’m Chamika Fonseka (he/him), and I’m running to be your ISD President for 2022. I’m a second year Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) student, and the current ISD Education Director.
As Education Director, I've worked to create accessible & informative resources for international students, organise advocacy efforts like the #BringBackCRS campaign, and engage closely with the remote student community.
As ISD President, I will;
- Advocate for more academic support for international students, and remote students in particular.
- Securing mental health, counselling, and wellbeing services for remote students.
- Supporting remote students’ transition to on-campus life once Australia’s borders reopen.
- Fighting wage theft and the exploitation of international student workers in Kambri.
- Creating a framework for clubs & societies that increases remote student inclusion.
- Increasing the transparency of ISD.
